PeerGFS and PeerIQ v6.2 are Now Available
Peer Software is pleased to announce the General Availability of PeerGFS and PeerIQ v6.2.
They are immediately available for purchase, trial download, and as upgrades.
What's New in PeerGFS?
New PeerGFS features and improvements include:
- Introduced multi-protocol support using Linux Agents, only available for PeerGFS Enterprise and Data Center subscription customers.
Functionality includes:
- The ability to synchronize data sets that are modified by both SMB and NFS clients.
- Support for Amazon FSxN, Dell PowerScale, NetApp ONTAP, and Nutanix Files.
- Support for File Synchronization and File Replication job types.
- Limited support for File Collaboration jobs, with locking only available for SMB clients and in environments that only use Dell PowerScale.
- Support for using Windows-style or Linux-style permissions when synchronizing permissions.
- Support for mixed permissions in environments that only use Dell PowerScale.
- Introduced native Linux file server support for Kernel 5.9 and above, only available for PeerGFS Standard, Enterprise, and Data Center subscription customers.
Functionality includes:
- The ability to install directly on a Linux file server and synchronize file changes made locally as well as over NFS.
- Support for File Synchronization and File Replication job types
- Support for Red Hat Enterprise / Rocky Linux v9+ as well as Ubuntu 21.04+.
- Added support for PostgreSQL, only available for PeerGFS Enterprise and Data Center subscription customers.
- Additionally, PeerGFS v6.2 incorporates the following new features and enhancements to improve performance, usability, and security that are available to all Peer customers with active PeerGFS Software Maintenance and Support agreements:
- Add signature checking to Malicious Event Detection (MED), as well as the ability to update parts of the MED configuration while jobs are running.
- Added a new File Move capability.
What's New In PeerIQ?
Exclusively for PeerGFS Subscription Customers, PeerIQ contains a number of new features and improvements, including:
- Support for installing on Red Hat servers.
- Added new Users and Client IP pages to File Activity Analytics (“FAA”).
- Add machine learning-based anomaly detection, looking for abnormal user and client IP behavior over time. Available as Early Access.
- Improved the PeerIQ updater system and added the ability to easily monitor and restart containers.
- Added support for authentication using Red Hat Identity Management (IdM).
