Last Updated: 07/09/2008 =============================================================================== PeerSync Listener - ByteReplicator for PeerSync, v2.2 =============================================================================== To Update the PSListener: 1. Stop the PSListener service if it is running 2. Terminate any instances of PSListener.exe running in the Task Manager 3. Go into the C:\WINDOWS\system32 directory and rename the PSListener.exe file to PSListener-OLD.exe 4. Launch the installation by selecting "Run" from the download dialog or by double-clicking on the installation file (pslist22.exe) 5. If you are upgrading the current version of PSListener simply install the application over your existing location and the previous version will be backed up in a sub-folder called 'BACKUP' (if the option to keep a backup is selected during the installation). If you are evaluating a new version of PSListener and you already have an existing copy of PSListener v2.0 or older, please select a new directory during the installation. 6. If you wish to remove previous versions of PSListener you must go to the 'Start Menu-Settings-Control Panel', select the 'Add/Remove Programs' utility and remove the PSListener versions you no longer need. =============================================================================== Note: For more information on the latest features and how to implement specific scenarios please go to: http://www.peersoftware.com/support/peersync.aspx =============================================================================== =============================================================================== 2.2.0 PeerSync Listener - ByteReplicator - 07/09/2008 =============================================================================== - Improved communication between PeerSync and the PSListener to better handle unreliable connections. Furthermore the PSListener can now be restarted within the timeout period specified for each Job during scans (60 seconds by default). The Status Display will now also display PSListener timeout information. - Added logic for PeerSync to check for the PSListener version. If the version does not match the version PeerSync requires an error message will be thrown and PeerSync will not connect to the Listener. This check works for new versions of PSListener, 2.2.0.1 or higher. =============================================================================== 2.1.1 PeerSync Listener - ByteReplicator - 04/23/2008 =============================================================================== - Fixed an issue where files containing at least two % characters would fail during byte-level replication. - Fixed an issue where during a byte-level pull scenario (remote to local) PeerSync would use the local PSListener instead of the remote. - Fixed an issue where byte-level file transfers for files with long paths failed and 100% of the file would be updated. - Fixed an issue when using TCP source paths with an administrator share (i.e. TCP:\\1.2.3.4\C$\Folder) would fail and cause the PSListener to go into an infinite loop. =============================================================================== 2.1.0 PeerSync Listener - ByteReplicator - 01/30/2008 =============================================================================== TCP Mode / TCP WAN Connector - PeerSync now supports real-time or scheduled bi-directional replication using our TCP replication mode. To achieve real-time bi-directional replication across TCP, PeerSync and PSListener would need to be installed on both the Source and the Target machines. For scheduled bi-directional replication across TCP, PeerSync would need to be installed on one side, while the PSListener on the other. This feature is not supported when using a TCP Source, FTP Source or FTP Target. Recovery - Improved recovery behavior to correctly identify files that need to be recovered and properly utilizes existing PeerSync settings if enabled (i.e. ByteReplicator or Use of temporary files). Recover is now also supported for TCP Source or Target. ByteReplicator - Added ability for Read-Only .BRTMP files to be cleaned up properly. - Fixed a ByteReplicator issue where it did not detect and transfer small byte changes to the beginning of a source file. =============================================================================== The proprietor of PeerSync is: Peer Software, Inc. 4155 Veterans Highway Suite 12 Ronkonkoma, NY 11779 Phone Number: (631) 979-1770 Fax Number: (631) 979-1870 Email: support@peersoftware.com Copyright © 1993-2008 Peer Software, Inc.
