Step 6 - Save Settings & Optionally Perform Initial Full Backup |

|
Peer DRS Help > Replication Modules > MS SQL Server > Creating an MS SQL Server Replication Job > Step 6 - Save Settings & Optionally Perform Initial Full Backup |
Clicking the OK button from the Replication Job Wizard's main dialog will validate all settings and perform some quick sanity checks to make sure the job is properly configured. If errors are detected then a message will be displayed and you will have an opportunity to correct the problem. Otherwise the settings are saved, the Peer DRS main window is displayed and the Replication Job List table is updated to reflect the changes that you made.
First Full Backup
After you create a new job or modify an existing one, you need to decide if you would like to immediately run a full backup, or wait for the next scheduled full backup. It is highly recommended that you run a full backup after creating a new job. Doing so will provide you with immediate feedback about any job configuration, security or network errors.
In addition, the incremental backups will start based on the frequency you have selected once the first full backup has been performed. If you don’t want to wait for the full backup schedule, you can immediately perform a full backup by pressing the Full Backup job action toolbar button after selecting the job.
After running the first full backup you should see something similar to the following information in the Activity Log Pane for the backup job which indicates that the full backup and full restore completed successfully and the last full backup date is updated in the job list table for that job.
