Miscellaneous Options

Job execution thread pool size |
This field is used for performance tuning and it controls the number of replication tasks that can execute concurrently (e.g. backup, copy, restore, etc). Adjusting this field too high can have adverse affects on performance and it is not recommend you alter this option unless you are in an extremely demanding environment where you are performing incremental backups for 10 or more databases every 1 minute or something similar. |
# times to retry restore locking errors |
In order to perform a restore on a target database, the application must be able to obtain an exclusive lock on the database. If there is activity on the warm target standby server then a locking error may occur. Use this option to tune the number of times to retry the restore until an exclusive lock can be obtained. |
# seconds between retries |
The number of seconds to wait between restore locking error retries. |
Install system tray icon |
If this feature is selected, an icon will appear on the system tray. Minimizing the application will minimize it into the system tray and the program will continue to run in the background. In addition, alert notifications will be displayed in the system tray via a tool tip popup. This option is useful if you run Peer DRS in Standalone Application Mode and want it to run in the background. |
Install as a Windows Service: |
This option will only be displayed if you are running Peer DRS on a Windows system. Checking this box will install the application as a Windows NT Service and set the startup mode to automatic, however the service will not automatically be started. In order to start the service you will need to exit this application and then manually start the service for the first time. By default the service will automatically be started when the computer is rebooted. Before starting the service you should configure the account that the service will run under and whether you would like to attach a GUI to the service by checking the allow service to interact with the desktop option. See the Service Mode section for details and requirements about running as a service.
Un-checking this option will uninstall Peer DRS as a Windows Service. |

This link will only be displayed if you are running Peer DRS on a Windows system. Clicking the link will open the Windows Service Console where you can see if Peer DRSis installed as a service and configure the service accordingly. |
