Alert Email Options |
|
|
Peer DRS Help > Using the Graphical User Interface > Global Options > Alert Email Options |
The Alert Email option section allows you configure one or more alert email addresses to send Peer DRS alerts to. Peer DRS alerts are configured on a per replication job basis, but the alert email address to send alerts to is global to all jobs. In order for alert emails to work you must specify one or more email addresses and configure a connection to an SMTP email server to send the alerts to. Peer DRS supports regular SMTP email as well as authenticated and encrypted connections.
Alert Email Options

Alert Email Address(es) |
A comma separated list of one or more email addresses to send critical systems alerts to. |
Outgoing SMTP Mail Server Host |
The hostname or IP address of the SMTP mail server to send alert emails to. |
Port |
TCP/IP connection port. It is recommended that you leave the default setting unless your email provider specified otherwise. |
User Name |
The username to authenticate with the SMTP mail server. This is normally not needed. (Optional) |
Password |
The password of the user name to authenticate. (Optional) |
Email Sent From |
The email address that will appear in the From field of the alert email. This user sometimes needs to be a valid user on the SMTP mail server. |
Server requires an encrypted connection |
Check this box if the SMTP mail server requires an encrypted connection. |
Encryption Protocol |
If the encryption check box is checked then the encryption protocol radio buttons will be enabled. Select either TLS or SSL encryption. If you do not know which one your server requires, then it is recommended you try TLS first and if that does not work then try SSL. |
Clicking on the Test Connection button will send a test email to the configured email address(es) and let you know if Peer DRS was able to successfully connect and send an email via the configured SMTP mail server. It is highly recommended that you test the configuration before saving the options.
