displays changes from the PeerSync™ and PeerLock™ application based on the application's
ability to connect and transmit that information successfully to the Observer.

Overview of Features
PeerSync Observer
- PeerSync™ and the Observer utilize Microsoft mail slots for communication purposes.
This method ensures that all communications will be secured by the built in security
of your Microsoft Windows network environment and no
additional security methods
need to be implemented. In other words if the running applications have the privileges
to access each others information then the mail slots will allow interactive communication.
Otherwise communication will be denied.
- The Observer comes with an enhanced interface with the ability to hide or show
specific content columns and it gives users optimized performance and increased
visibility on their Peer Software deployment(s).
- Ability to receive PeerLock status information and display it in a separate table
similar to the display available in PeerLock when running in an application mode.
- User control to set the cycle of how often the Observer will broadcast messages
to all PeerSyncs to begin transmitting status information to the Observer.
- User interface flexibility where the position of panels and columns can be shown/hidden/saved
Administrator Package
- Control PeerSync Service
Through this functionality the Observer Administrator will allow you to Start, Stop, Pause and Resume any PeerSync instances running as a Service and visible within the PeerSync Observer Enterprise monitoring application.
- Release PeerLock Locks
The Observer Administrator feature unlocks the ability to take action on the list of locked files visible within its monitoring view. Through the interface you will be able to release selected lock(s) or choose to release all locks. This functionality is available for Administrators to temporarily release locks if needed*.
* We don't encourage the releasing of locks, however if needed this functionality is available to administrators.
- Edit/Submit PeerSync Profiles
The Observer further empowers the Administrator to make changes to any PeerSync Profile running within the network and visible through the Observer Enterprise monitoring application. In addition, once the Profile has been updated it can be sent to one or more PeerSync instances, automatically through the Observer Enterprise interface. After the PeerSync profile
has been automatically updated on the selected systems, the PeerSync Service is programmatically restarted without end user intervention.
- Email Notification
Through the Observer Enterprise you will be able to identify specific criteria for Email Notification.
- Reprocess Failed Events/Scans
Through the interface you will be able to reprocess PeerSync Failed Events and/or Failed Scans.
