Exchange Server Backup and Replication

Email is a critical application in today’s businesses and failure of an Exchange server means loss of productivity, and as a result, loss of significant profits due to downtime.

Businesses simply cannot afford data loss from their Exchange mail servers. Periodic tape backups are no longer acceptable means for data backup due to the slow recovery process that they provide.

Peer DRS was created to provide the foundation for your centralized Exchange Server Backup and Exchange Replication requirements and to meet the challenges they face. This product also enables you to centrally manage your SQL Backup alongside your Exchange Backup through the Peer DRS product console.

Peer DRS automates the replication of databases and incremental changes on a primary server, which are then restored onto one or more target standby servers. Transaction logs are automatically backed up throughout the day (for whatever interval specified), which are then automatically restored on a standby server located anywhere in the world.

Below are some of the key features of the Peer DRS (Exchange Module):

• Ability to perform scheduled up-to-the-minute incremental backups or continuous capture (whenever Exchange log files are closed) of Exchange data, metadata, and context, including all email, folders, deletions, calendars, contacts, notes, tasks, and more.
• Protects against data loss and allows local recovery of Exchange information stores, mailboxes and disaster recovery of Exchange data to a standby Exchange Server.
• Ability to perform on-demand recovery from latest snapshot of primary storage group to the target Exchange server for failover or other recovery purposes.
• Guaranteed Exchange consistent backups. Checksums for all database pages are performed during backup and alerts will be sent if any errors occur.
